Lodging Information

Participants are responsible for their own lodging. The conference will be located at the UMKC Student Union, at 5100 Cherry St., Kansas City, MO.

Nearby hotels (with UMKC discounted rates) are available at: http://www.umkc.edu/welcome/hotels.cfm. Nearby hotels can be seen here, and include Holiday Inn, Courtyard Marriott, The Raphael Hotel, and Extended Stay America within one mile of campus.

Modern campus housing is available for conference participants as an affordable lodging option. Campus housing can be reserved and paid for during the registration process, and must be purchased by June 1 May 22 (deadline has been shortened because we are quickly running out of rooms reserved for the conference).

Campus housing options include suite-styled single rooms or double-occupancy rooms with shared bathrooms (see description of the residence hall). The residence hall is within easy walking distance to the conference (see campus map).

Single occupany rooms: $34.07 per night
Double occupancy rooms: $26.63 per person per night
Optional Linens Package (fitted and flat sheets, pillow, comforter, bath and hand towels, and wash cloth): $17

Campus Housing Details: Check-in and check-out are available between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Please check in at the Oak Street Residence Hall to get your room keys. Smoking and alcohol are not allowed in the residence halls. Exterior doors are locked 24 hours/day; your key will give you access to the building. There is a $60 fee for lost or non-returned keys. If you wish to reserve a two-person room, please have the name of your roommate ready when you register. If you do not have a roommate, you will have to pay the single room rate.

Parking

A 3-day parking pass can be purchased during the registration process for $14 (please pick it up at the registration desk when you arrive). Parking will be in the Cherry Street Parking Garage (map). You may also purchase a parking pass upon arrival at the conference, from the registration table. A one-day parking pass is also available for $7.

If you do not purchase a pass, there is metered parking at UMKC that is metered during the day and night.
